Halloween 2010

It was actually cold last night,
so the kids really looked like
they really had muscles, cause
they had on so many shirts!

We had fun Halloween 2010.
Hit Charwood last night, and
had a blast, and made out pretty
good as far as all the candy goes.

We put the hatch back up, and me
and the kids road in the back, and
daddy drove us around. Lots of
people were out. I don't think

I have never seen so many people
trick or treating.

Luke and Ashlyn were a little
scared, I think they did really
good Ashlyn had a nightmare
last night, but she has been
doing that for a while, so I
don't think it was all last nights
edventures. Glad that it is over
kind of Pat and I are tired.

We also have two tired babies.

Great time had by all

Oh how much easier it is getting
to take two toddlers places. We
had an absolute blast last night
with Superman and Supergirl!
Pine Island was fun as usual,
the food, treats and ride were
all great, and they even had
a non-scary hay ride. :-)

About the hay ride, so funny

Luke waited until we were
in the pitch black dark, and it
was so quiet that a pin could
drop, and started singing,
"I like to move it move it"
It was to funny.
Ashlyn who has been a daddy's
girl, wanted me last night!

It was a long night. Everyone
did not get in the bed until
11:00PM, late night in the
Boozer household!!

Thankfully the kids let us
sleep until 8:00AM.

Super Mom???

I just might just be Super Mom!
Whipped up these shirts tonight.

We are ready for our Carnival tomorrow now!
These are going to go great
with their Capes!

I know we are stuck on
Superman and Supergirl!
Sure that will change soon.
Thank goodness for a good printer,
and some Quick Fuse Iron-On Paper.
Luke is just impressed
"How did you make that mom?, So cool"
Ashlyn just wanted to know if she could wear her's.
Her new word is Actually.
“Actually, I would like to wear mine to school”
Remember Luke’s was Spectacular

Bear Parade

Luke got a hold of the camera!

I can not wait to post a picture of Luke's
Bear Parade Bear. So cute. He had to come
up with a theme and create a float.

Tumble class was last night and Ashlyn
enjoyed getting to see MeMaw and Paw Paw.

Luke went to the Koger Center Yesterday
to see Jennie B. Jones. He said she was a Star.

This morning Luke told me, what is taking
so long for us to go on vacation again?

1st day as a Brunette...

I am going back to my roots, and trying my natural hair color.
My natural hair color was blonde for so long, but now with
age and kids. My natural color is still in the blonde family believe it
or not, but it is the LAST Shade of BLONDE which is a 7.

So I am giving it a shot for a while!

I LOVE IT!!!

Let kids be kids....

I read this article today, and well I wanted to share it.
I agree let kids be kids.
"Parents Can Be Too Involved"
John Rosemond
The State, October 10, 2010
One of the differences between parents of the 1950s and today is that the former did not care what grades their children made in school. Mind you, they insisted that their children do their best, but if a child's best was average, his parents accepted that and did nothing to make him look like a better student than what he was. Today's parents, as a lot, seem to have great difficulty accepting less than A's on their children's report cards. As a consequence, they are found doing all they can to create the outward impression that their children are a cut above in the achievement department.
Doing one's best is a character issue. When a parent does her best to ensure good grades on her child's report cards, the report cards may in fact look good, but the child suffers in the long run. He never learns to do his best. He is disadvantaged, therefore, when faced with difficult problems. It appears that the zeal to have one's child identified as gifted and talented and placed, therefore, on an advanced and accelerated track in school is misplaced.
A newly released study finds that only 3 percent of gifted and talented children live up to their potential. The study's author, education psychologist Joan Freeman, tracked 210 gifted children into adulthood and discovered that only six achieved a level of vocational success commensurate with their abilities.
To what did Freeman attribute this underachievement? Over involved, pushy parents who end up robbing their children of their childhoods. By all appearances, these kids are high achievers, but they are often not well-founded, especially when it comes to social skills.
"The pleasures and creativity of childhood are the basis of all great work," Freeman writes. She cites one child who was considered a math prodigy. As an adult, he has failed to find any satisfying work and is currently working at a fast-food joint, flipping burgers. It appears that drive, personality, and social skills are as critical to success as ability, perhaps more so. Needless to say, drive cannot develop if someone else is doing the driving.
The day after this study was released I was in Connecticut doing my usual public-speaking thing. After the talk, a mom came up and told me that prior to having children she had worked in the admissions office of a prestigious New England private college. A disproportionate number of students at said college come from the rolls of gifted and talented programs.
"These young people are often lost without their parents' constant help and validation," she said. Their parents coach them through every difficulty, help them with their homework via the Internet, and stand ready to confront any professor who dares give them less than A's.
To paraphrase something my stepfather was fond of saying: An impressive transcript and a dollar will buy you a cup of coffee.

Fall Fun Begins

Oh I love October. When it is warm outside, but
the heat is not really getting to you! Just love it.
The kids Pat and I walked the hill today,
which I am glad because my baby sister brought
me some DOVE Candy and a Symphony bar both
my favs, she also gave me som really cool earrings.
I sampled both and put them in the fridge
for after my best friends wedding! I am so looking
forward to the wedding it is going to be such a blast.
I know I say this every week, but Luke's game today
was the best by far. Grammy and Aunt Cole made
his day and game day. No really big plays, by Luke
but everyone hit GREAT, and showed their stuff on
the field. It was a really nice, relaxing time at the
ball park. Ashlyn hung out in the dug out most of the
game, and then sat with Aunt Cole, and it was wonderful
for her to be at the game in a good mood. She looked like
a pretty little cheerleader. I have to post picture of my
cutie pie! She is getting so tall and her legs are a mile long.
:-)
Will be posting pictures of the Wedding and the kids
trip to Papa Boozer's and Dangs.
The kids, Pat and I are so excited!!

Grandparents Day 2010

Today was Grandparents Day, and Dang and Papa Boozer
got to visit Luke's school. I stayed myself this year.

They really do not have a Parent's Day, so I stayed
I got a lot of you sure don't look like a Grandma...
and I had to explain I was not, but I did not want
to miss it again this year! I had a blast. Luke
got upset after nap, because I had to go back to work.

They all did a great job, and Luke really enjoyed the day.

Thanks to everyone!

Ok So I am 35...

Who is the monkey? LOL!

I never do this, but LOOK AT THIS KIDS HAIR!!

ICEE CHEESE

With everything Pat and I have been through the last couple
of years I must admit I feel older than 35!

We had a great week-end celebrating my Birthday.

My little Luke loves to yard sale as much as me, and Ashlyn
is a daddy's girl which is so sweet. At Luke's game today all
she wanted was her Daddy! Our babies are growing too fast
Here are some pumpkin pics, we actually got the baby pupmkins,

Luke and Ashlyn isisted, and Pat and
I saw the price and we said
OK! LOL!!

Friday night, we had our house party, which turned in to a house cleaning
party. Which was wonderful, cause we woke up Sat to a clean house.

Sat, Luke hung out with me, and Ashlyn hung out with Pat.

Yesterday, was fun, we hit the Zoo and had a blast then
came home for hot dogs, then we were off to Luke's game.

The game was AWESOME. Luke caught a line drive straight to him, and
threw it to 1st. He really looked like a pro. Mrs. Kessia, and Mr. Louie love
these games as much as Pat and I do. Last night Pat and I drank a little
vino, grilled Steaks, and headed out for a fun golf cart ride with the kids.

We did a lot, and none of it was planned, but boy was it fun.
I am feeling the vino a little today.
Started the day with a V8!

Happy Birthday to me!
Thanks honey for a perfect week-end!
