~More Sunday 07/31/2011~

Church was wonderful today, and we got a 3 hour nap.  I post everytime this happens, naps seem to be rare and far between.  I love the fact that we stayed home this week-end and just took it as it came.  I did not mention that our wonderful neighbors brought over cookies and pancakes yesterday morning. Both were delicious! Thanks guys!

7:35 A.M. Sunday 07/31

Ashlyn is excited to go to church, and more excited to wear her dress that she and Dang picked her out together.  Dang took her shopping and Ashlyn fell in love with this dress.  Seriously she has her momma's taste!  She popped up this A.M. and wanted to get dressed for church, with her Daddy's help this was the finished product!  So precious!  I did run the iron over it after these pictures!

Thanks Papa Boozer and Dang for the dress'!

Love ya!

School Supplies

We went to Walmart today and got School Supplies.  I just love getting school supplies, it is so very fun.  We got everything the kids need to start school and a little extra.  I wanted to get Luke a couple of pair of new shinny shorts.  I had gotten him some chaps shorts and a pair of plaid ones, but he loves the shinny shorts so much so I wanted to get him a few pair.

So after getting school supplies we ran to Kohls while we were out, because I had a $5.00 off coupon + 15%, and I knew the shinny shorts were on sale for $5.20.  So I could basically get a pair free.  Well anyway we went and picked out the colors Luke wanted and then I sent Pat to the check out with Luke while I took Ashlyn to the potty.  I come back and he is like hurry up, he looked so embarrassed.  When I get over there I see that the total is 18 cents.

What happened was, Pat put the shinny shorts he had in his hand on the counter, and Luke held on to his, so the lady only rang up one pair.  Pat said "wow my wife said it was going to be a good deal, but I did not know it was going to be this good a deal".  He was like I don't have any change on me and I don't want to put 18 cents on my debit card, so I will just wait until my wife gets back.  The lady behind him really wanted to give him 18 cents, so Pat let her, and Thanked Her.  At this point the cashier notices Luke's pair of Shinny Shorts, "Oh Sir I did not ring those up".  At this point Pat is ready to leave and I think he even says he was going to put them back.  The cashier felt sorry for Pat so she rings him up again same as before and tells him that will be 18 cents.  So the lady behind him coughs up another 18 cents!  I arrive as she is giving the lady the second 18 cents, and try to pay her back.  She told me no, please let me do it!  I have never gotten a deal this good, and well I would like the buy this little boy some back to school clothes. Oh it is so funny, that's how you do back to school shopping people!!!!!  Get it for 18 cents and have the lady behind you pay!  We got free shorts today!  hehehehe!  We have gotten a very big laugh out of this today!

Ashlyn getting K-3 Supplies!  Oh I can't believe she is starting K-3!

Big Brother Luke - Knows the ropes because he is going to be in Kindergarten!!!
Oh my goodness this is happening way to fast!

Sweet Words from a Toddler

We all know kids are not perfect, mine included but they get to an age and they say the sweetest and most endearing genuine things.

Jedd Alan was with my mom the other day and he over heard the issues Luke was having with his bike, and Jedd Alan said "Grammy please tell Luke he can borrow my bike until his gets fixed".  Isn't that just sweet?

IF that didn't melt your heart this will.

Luke got home from spending 3 days with Papa Boozer and Dang.  We all try to make sure that Luke and Ashlyn know about Uncle Ashley and show them grown up pictures of him all the time.  Well Luke noticed a picture on Papa Boozer and Dang's fridge, and wanted to know who those two little boys were?  Joan aka Dang told him one was his dad and one was his dad's brother Ashley, which is Caleb's dad.  He was like ok, and went on with his business.  Last night when Pat was putting Luke in the tub.  Luke said, "Dad you have a brother?".  Pat told him yes he had a brother but he got hurt and now he was in heaven with God.  With out batting an eye, Luke looked up at Pat and said "Daddy I am sorry your brother got hurt and is in heaven now."  I was getting Ashlyn dressed and I could hear the entire thing.  It melted my heart and is one of the sweetest things I have ever heard in my entire life.

Ears Pierced 07/27

Ashlyn got her ears pierced today.  She was so very brave.  She held her breath, and then let out some tears, gave me a big hug then she was fine!  :-)  Now we have to keep them cleaned and turned.

What is it with this girl and the number 7?  She wanted to come into this world 07/07/07, then she was born 09/07/07, and now she got her ears pierced on 07/27/11.  I think 7 might just be her lucky number.

Here is a little info about what lead up to her getting her ears pierced:

Ashlyn and Luke have been talking about her doing it for a while.  He was so funny the other day.  She stopped picking her forehead, and we used to bribe her with "if you will stop picking your forehead we will get your ears pierced".

Well the other day Luke looked at Ashlyn and said “SISTER, your forehead looks beautiful!!!!” - “You can get your ears pierced now”.  So they have been talking, and we had her by herself Tuesday Night, and I told Pat that would be something special we could do, well they closed at 5:00.  So Pat picked up Luke from Papa Boozer and I picked up Ashlyn yesterday and we met at Jewelry Warehouse.

She kept telling Mrs. Debbie all day yesterday that she was getting her ears pierced and going to show Luke.   No backing out, we did it!  I kept telling her she did not have to do it!  Pat said I was trying to talk her out of it.  I was just making sure that is what she wanted to do.  I was 4 when I got mine done, and she is close enough to 4!

After it we went to Yumilicious, and please if you go get the New York Cheese Cake. I got a tiny bit and everyone wanted mine!! It was Yumilicious, but the price was high $0.45 a oz. and they charge for toppings in the oz. weight.  You only get your 1st pair of earrings, once!!

Ordered the Kids Back to School Outfits

We might have to wear them when we go to Florida in a couple of weeks, but I will try to wait until the 1st day of school.  We have to go get our school supplies, I am waiting on Luke's list.

I am excited but a little unsettled about all of this change.  How did my baby get old enough to start K-3, and my oldest will be in K-5.  This just blows my mind.  Between school supplies, clothes, book fees and shot records.  I will have enough to keep me busy the next few weeks of summer.

Hate Painting Your Finger Nails/Toe Nails?

Do you hate painting your finger nails/toe nails?  Well if so I have the product for you!!!!!!  Joan Boozer aka as Dang is selling these nifty sheilds for your nails.  It is fingernail polish with out the paint brush!  You basically press them on and go.  I HATE, HATE, HATE doing my toe nails and trying to wait until they dry I always mess 1 up and have to redo it.  You can book parties also, and Joan will show you how they work.

1950's ~ Records~Malt Shop~Poodle Skirts

Ashlyn wants to have milk shakes for her birthday, and I am working on a theme and invitations.  We did a mini photo shoot tonight to see what we are going to use for our invitations.  Here is all MY hard work.

By the way when Ashlyn got home we showed her the bike
and she was so excited she had a new Bike!
This chick is so very easy to please.

Oh Lord!

Papa Boozer and Dang have had the kids since Sunday, today is Tuesday so Pat is going to pick them up.  Ashlyn called this AM and wanted to talk to me, and just wanted to let me know she was ready for us to pick them up.  Luke said he is not going home, sister can go.  So Joan took them swimming so she packed their clothes so she can meet Pat in Lexington after the swim.  Luke saw her packing up his stuff and said he does not want to come home tonight, maybe tomorrow?  Oh well at least we still have one kid that loves and misses us.  I have a feeling when Luke sees his daddy he will be singing a different tune.  We will see when I get home tonight.  :-)

Once again, Luke has proven me wrong.  He stayed! That little turkey!

Bikes

Grammy and Mr. Will got Luke a dirt bike for his birthday, as soon as he got home and fell once the motor on the handle bars broke.  I fixed it, however it would not stay on the handle bars.  We called Wal-Mart they would not take it back, so we called Hot Wheels and they shipped us a new motor for the handle bars, well I am not sure if Luke's image of the bike shattered along with the 1st motor, but he has not wanted to ride it, said it is not a real dirt bike?  Go figure, kids!  So Pat and I took it back to Wal-Mart tonight and had the most pleasant experience.  The shift manager Brad, helped us exchange the bike for a new dirt bike, and gave it to us at the same price as the Hot Wheels Bike.  I mean seriously this is the 1st time in a long time I can say that Wal-Mart really worked with us.  Such a wonderful thing!  When Luke and Ashlyn get home tomorrow they are going to be so excited.  We had to Jazz up sisters bike also!

Date Night & Edislow

I took off Thursday and Friday of last week.  Thursday night, MeMaw and PawPaw kept Luke and Ashlyn for us, while Pat and I went on a "Date Night".  Ashlyn was so funny that is what she kept telling everyone we were doing that night. When I kept them Thursday we hit Target and Chick-fil-a both of our favorite places to have mommy time at.  Anyway the kids did good for MeMaw and PawPaw and Pat and I had fun on our Dinner Cruise out to Bomb Island to see the Purple Martins.  I won the trip so it was a nice treat.  The food and beverages were all included, and we enjoyed them all.  We have no pictures, I took the night off from pictures.

Friday we headed to Edisto.  This was mine and the kids 1st trip to Edisto.  We enjoyed it.  This was the 1st time Papa Boozer, Dang, Caleb and our family had been at the beach together!  Ashlyn and Caleb bonded.  Normally Luke hogs all of Caleb's time, but this time it worked out that Luke was not so dependent on Caleb and Ashlyn was able to get some of her big cousins time.

These are just a few pictures:

Week-end recap...

I was grumpy, Pat was grumpy, but somehow we made it through!  :-)  Friday was house party, and clean up.  Saturday was throwing hair up and putting on a visor and run around town.  We got Luke and Ashlyn a helmet so they can ride the 4 wheeler.  We got the kids a few clothes, trying to get ready for school.  Ashlyn has to wear skirts, and I like the scooter skirts.  We still need some shinny shorts for Luke, and we should be set.  I am looking forward to taking them to get back to school supplies.  I used to love getting back to school supplies.  Yesterday Grammy and Mr. Will came to hang out with us at the Lake, and I am convinced that I will never leave the house without putting on the sunscreen before we leave.  The kids finally let me put it on them at the Lake, but I don't think it took great.  They got a little more sun than normal.  I did not apply anything and I got fried.  We were there from 12:00 to 4:00.  Thank goodness we left when we did.  Grammy and Mr. Will spent the night last night, and we had fun hanging out with them and grilling.  Back to the working world today.  The kids are going to have fun at Mrs. Debbie's this week.  Today they are heading to the Zoo, Wednesday Mrs. Kessia is keeping them, and Thursday I will keep them, and then we are all off Friday and heading to Edisto.  Can't wait!

Random Cuteness

Ashlyn still end her sentences with, Honey.  "It's on the table, honey"

It is getting intresting.....

Luke asked a gentelman that CVS the other day "What happened to all your hair?"
and he asked the neighbor "Do you have something we can keep?"  Meaning he was wanting her to give him something.  LOL!

Ashlyn told someone their breath stunk.  She backed away from them and said "Your breath stinks".

They both ask, "Can we have X".  I say "No", and they both ask "Why Not Mommy?".

I called somebody stupid, and they were both like "Momma you said a bad word".  It really took me a minute to figure out what they were talking about.  If anyone says shut up, they say the same thing.

Luke came home from school a long time ago, and I forgot to write it down.  He said " So and So's Daddy is going to Hell!".  I asked him why, and he said "Because he drinks Beer everyday".

Work Trip!

I had my 1st work trip!  Luke begged me to please not go, and Ashlyn did not say a word.  When I got back I don't even think they missed me.  LOL!

Flare Up!

Oh my I am so glad that my bladder flare up is over!  The Radiation treatment I had burnt, and killed lots of normal cells in my body.  And it burnt my salivary glands, and my bladder.  Over time they have healed, thank goodness.  My bladder has been giving me pretty much constant pain since our vacation.  Finally, today it is about half gone, and it is so much more manageable!  I try to treat it with herbs, and finally had given up and asked them to call me in a RX for the real stuff.  Wouldn't you know my insurance does not cover it, and it is $100.00.  So I tried one more herb! And it seems to be working!  YIPPEE.  Maybe one day my salivary glands, and bladder will heal entirely.

Before Work Today

I did not come to work today until 12:00.  Mrs. Debbie is sick so Pat and I split the day up.  I had some fun hanging out with the kids and of course took advantage and did a little photo session with the kids, and some things around the neighborhood.  I wish I would have gotten the really big camera!

This was actually last night.  Luke wanted to lay with me for a little while.
BECAUSE he did not want to go to sleep!  He looked so sweet!
This boy is a wonderful ball player!

This was yesterday after Church.
Ashlyn looked so sweet with her hair french braided.
I had to take a picture!

This girl can hit!!

Today

Today I am so sad, about the Jaycee Dupree story.  I watched it last night and it broke my heart.  What a testimony.  What a lady, to endure so much and still hold her head high.  She is a saint!  I am horrified by what happened to her, and it really makes you think!  We all need to have our guard up to strangers.

~Friday and Saturday~

Luke and Ashlyn spent the night with MeMaw and PawPaw.  I made the awful mistake of telling them Caleb was spending the night, when it wasn't so.  Luke was so sad he shed tears!  Little Man was pitiful.  Despite that little set back they had fun!

I slept like a rock.  For some reason I did not go to sleep until 11:00, I don't know why I do that?  I even over slept today did not wake up until 8:00 and I needed to pick the kids up for a play date at the park at 9:00.  I made it out the door at 8:30 stopped by the pig, for a sack lunch.  Swung by and got breakfast, and made it to pick the kids up at 9:00, so we were a few minutes late for our play date.  Made it at 9:15!

We had fun, and it WAS HOT!

4th of July ~ Monday

We had fun picking blueberries at Papa Ryan's, he did not feel well so we did not get to visit with him.  The blueberries are so yummy!  And the pine trees are starting to take off!
