So we came on home Friday so we could get back into the swing of things here in Columbia. Since we did not have a heavily planned week-end. We loaded up in the car Saturday packed with Lunch, swim gear and just about anything else we would need. We started off with a trip to the Farmers Market to get some fresh veggies. Our 2nd stop was to head downtown for a couple of things then swing by the pool. As we passed the Capital, Luke was like I have always wanted to go there. So Pat and I though why not? Let’s do it! So we walked to Capital grounds and steps. Ashlyn was hot and tired, we all were except Luke. He wanted to see everything. The boy really got into it. He wanted to see a Cannon, and well I thought I remembered one, and there was they donated it to a museum he was pretty upset about that, and wanted to know how they could have moved it on him? So as we were leaving we saw a ship gun and told him it was a cannon and it seems to satisfy him. He was just thrilled to have seen at least one!

Columbia Day 5 - Camp Day 4 ~ Twin Cousins!
Today is the last day of Camp for the girls, we are shopping when I pick them up then heading to Marion for a day of fun tomorrow. The boys have the last day of Camp tomorrow.
Livie and Ashlyn finished the last day of Camp. They loved it.
Luke and Jedd Alan had Spirit night. Grammy drove from work just for spirit night. They gave away metals for 4 things. Bait and Cast, Canoing, Gun Safety & Rifle and Archery. Luke won 1st in Bait and Cast and Jedd Alan won 1st in Gun Safety & Rifle Safety! We are all so proud of them. Not everyone won something and to have both our boys win 1st was just the icing on the cake.
I feel like I have so many people to thank for this week. I have to admit. I would not have thought the kids were ready or have done this with out a little nudge from my mom and Sheila. If they had not mentioned it. It would not have happened. These kids and all the parents enjoyed it so very much.
Luke did not want to come home and Alivia wants to know when she can come back. Luke was so funny when we saw him of course he hugged us, but he wanted to walk beside Ashlyn and show her his camp, and hold her hand. It was SO SWEET!
Ashlyn has come out of her shell. Alivia is a early riser and when she sleeps she moves a lot. So Ashlyn kind of missed out on a little sleep. When we got home she slept from 6:00 the moment we pulled out of Marion and then I put her on the couch she said she was just so tired still, so I put her to bed. She slept the entire night, until 7:00 am this morning!

Columbia Day 4 - Camp Day 3
The girls had another wonderful day at camp and so did Luke and Jedd Alan. I picked the girls up at 3:00 and headed to pick up Pizza and then we hung out at the pool until 6:00! Now Bath and Bed.
Aunt Sheila taught little Luke how to tie his shoes, boy is he excited! We are so proud of our little guy. He is just growing up!
Aunt Sheila and Uncle Jedd are also teaching the boys how to be resourceful!

Columbia Day 3 - Camp Day 2

We hit the Zoo when I picked the girls up today. It looks like they are sitting beside the Gorilla!

Columbia Day 2 - Camp Day 1!
Today is the 1st official day of Camp but it is Day 2 on our little adventure! The girls made it to Edventure at 9:00, instead of 8:00. All of our lastnight sleeping issues. We needed a little extra rest this morning. I am getting off at 2:30 and Sheila is picking the girls up at 1:00. We are going to head to the pool when I get off! Tomorrow I hope the girls can make it to 2:30. I am going to take the entire day off Friday. Maybe we should have jumped in with a 3 day camp! :-) 5 days is looking long to even me at this point!
Columbia Day 1 ~ Getting Ready for Camp
We made the switch today! Livie came to stay in Columbia, and I gotta say for a 4 year old little girl she is extremly brave. She colored the entire way here. We got her unpacked and put her baby to bed. Then swam in the pool. She got sick on the deck. I think she was just a little excited.
We took a bath, watched some of Tangled. Read 3 books, now they are both fast asleep on the couch.
She has already asked if her momma is coming to pick her up tomorrow? I hope she makes it until Friday, and I sure hope Luke makes it. He got a little sad on the ride.
Well Livie got sick 2 more times. She held her breakfast down, so we sent them on to Edventure. Sheila is in Columbia and on standby!
Luke is having a BLAST!

Happy Father's Day!
I hope everyone had a great Father's Day. We got our wonderful daddy some cast iron skewers, come budlight limes, boxers, a grill brush and some veggies for his skewers.
Pat took the kids on a bike ride to Saluda Shoals and I shopped. I actually go to go to the grocery store with no kids! Yeah!
Then we came home a grilled chicken and veggies and I was out like a light by 8:00 PM. Pat put the kids to bed. We got up this morning and went to church, ate Taco's for lunch, took a nap and then played in the kiddie pool out back. The big event was supper at Zaxby's where Livie came home with me to head to summer camp and Luke headed home with the Hess Family for Wildlife Action Camp!

Long....Fun....Week!
Luke and Ashlyn are just growing up so fast. Luke is reading anything he can get his hands on and Ashlyn is observing the kids that cry and get what they want. It never really works out for her, so hopefully that will not last long.
We finished up swim lessons this week! Luke can swim like a fish and Ashlyn is doing way better. It is kind of scary that she THINKS she can swim. I had to bail her out twice tonight!
Summer Camps are in full swing. Luke and Ashlyn both love the camps this year and it makes me so happy. They are getting to the point they are starting to appreciate that we know what is best for them.
This is the last week that Pat will have to work 7-5:30! It makes such a long day for everyone.
We ended our week with a swim in the pool. Luke wants to do that everyday. I am not ready for the switch. I am ready to have Livie here, just not sure I am ready for my little Luke to be away. He is so funny! I am going to miss my little man!
Here is to a week-end of relaxation and bonding so that Luke feels secure about spending a week away from home. The last time he was away for a week he went through weeks, months of separation anxiety!

Beach Baby!
We just got back from a wonderful trip to Marion and the Beach. It was a lot of work getting there, but the memories and the fun we had were all well worth it.
We drove to Marion Friday night, and hit the beach about 10:30 on Sat. We played in the ocean, slid on the huge slide they have on the beach, ate some wonderful burgers at a beach cafe, rode rides, and played in the arcade. Grammy is going to have to work hard to get her bank account back up.
Today we had a great home cooked meal of country fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies!

Anxiety
Luke seems to be having lots of anxiety lately, and it all revolves around being left alone.
For 2 months now he has been looking for Pat when Pat has just stepped out the door to do something or gone somewhere, and he had the issues where he would cry at school and want Pat. Well that has all seemed to get better.
We have had two incidents recently where he has gone to our neighbors house saying he can’t find us! It is just crazy. One I had gone to the store, and Ashlyn and Pat went to feed the rabbit, Luke was either playing his game or something. He did not realize they had gone outside. Luke went to the neighbors house looking for Pat. Sunday Luke was in the restroom and Pat, Ashlyn and I stepped outside to take the Daddy/Daughter pictures and Luke went to the neighbors again, saying he could not find us. They called us, and we seemed to be outside looking for Luke at the same time, he ran into my arms, and was crying and his heart was about to beat out of his chest. He is worried to death we are going to leave him? He tells me the entire way to school or camp not to forget to pick him up? It is just the weirdest thing we have ever seen, but it is so real to him. He was/is terrified!
If any of you have any ideas on how to help him, please share them with me. I have read so many articles and for now all we can do is gain his trust, not fully knowing why he all of a sudden does not feel we will pick him up or why in the world we would leave him unattended. When that has never happened.
It is so heartbreaking!

1st Father/Daughter Banquet
Pat was a trouper. He worked all week-end, and came in long enough to take Ashlyn to her 1st Father/Daughter Banquet. At first she did not want to go, but now she is so glad they went. They had linen covered tables, they ate by candle light, and pretty flowers were on the table! She felt so special. Here are some pictures of the date!

Pictures
Joan made these precious dresses for Ashlyn and Shelby, and we wanted to get some pictures of the kids before Caleb moves to Hartsville. It was a pretty day, and Tiffany let us use their barn. I think they all turned out pretty good. These are my favs.
