I LOVE Baseball season. Initially we were not going to sign the kids up, 1 because we feel really busy, 2 we did not want school work to suffer, and 3 it is just plain expensive.
It was $150.00 to sign them both up then you have to do a fundraiser and not to mention the gear you have to get as well as candy, snacks..you get the idea!
Mom paid $100.00 for the kids to play, and Luke is actually doing better in school now that he is busy. So it seems it is all working itself out.
God has a plan! I have to just be obedient and trust it!
Opening day was Saturday, and we could not have asked for better weather. Luke and Ashlyn did great in the games.
Ashlyn was on the pitchers mound and got two people out, and did a great job hitting. It was a slower game, but t-ball is. The kids were cute as EVER and I got some megga adorable pictures of them all! I could eat them up at this stage of the game. Our 1st scrimmage two of the players hit the ball and ran past the pitchers mound to 2nd base. hahaha, bless them!
Luke played center field and did not see much action, luckily because he was playing in the dirt with his glove. This year he is going to be an asset if he can bat well. The team Luke is on have played together for a few years so he is the youngest, new player. The rest of the kids are 7-8, turning 8-9 after May! Luke struck out twice, his nerves got the best of him. We talked to him while he was getting up to bat, and told him to think of playing baseball in the back yard and hit it like he does there! HAVE FUN! Well HE DID! And made it to 1st. The 1st baseman missed the ball so he stole to 2nd! I was screaming and yelling like an insane person. We were tied 8-8, then the other team bated leaving the score 11-8. Luke hit the ball, and knocked in a player leaving the score 11-9, then Luke came in and made the score 11-10! He scored ya'll - SLID and all!! Luke started a ralley, and the next two batters hit homeruns! And they stopped the scoreboard at 11-12! What a game! Coaches pitch is not like t-Ball. Luke's team was making triple plays, and knocking homeruns it is easy to see why Luke got rattled. But he held his head high and got into the game!
So proud of both of our babies!!
