Times are a Changin!
I got to admit I did not see this change coming. My boss has been moved to another department, and I can't go with him. I have to stay. I am kind of having a hard time dealing with it, because John hired me and trained me.
Looks like it might have been what was needed for the company, and who knows, I might be moving to a new position soon as well.
I am not a big fan of change, but I do know that God is in control and if I keep doing his will, then me and my family with be fine.
Just hoping for a smooth transition for him and me.

Mother and Son Bowling!
I am so glad that our church did this. We don't get many chances to hang out with the little men in our lives.
Gymnastics and Fall Ball 2014
Ashlyn is loving taking Gymnastics with her best friend. Luke is doing pretty good as far as Baseball goes.

Control
I feel a sermon coming on...... I have been thinking a lot about when we were kids and I gotta say if I was CONTROLED the way kids are today I would not be the same person. What I mean is we do for our kids, we think for them, we tell the exactly what to do so they never experience being out of control and when they do they don't know how to handle it.
I have to admit Pat and I are the worlds worse at expecting too much out of Luke and Ashlyn and today I have to admit we are over parenting.
It is time to step back and let the kids experience things without us a little. They need to be able to problem solve and figure things out a little on their own.
You have read it but I had posted this funny post about when I was little and my mom would take naps and we would do all sorts of crazy things. We would ask her while she was sleeping and she would always say yes. So we did it.
Luke and Ashlyn said Pat and I need to take more naps, it was not because we needed rest or anything which everyone really needs rest, but not that was not it. They wanted us to say YES. That got me thinking. When do I really say oh yes you can go and climb that tree, or what ever craziness they ask us. The answer is always maybe later we need to do this first or No or No you might get hurt or No we don't have the money for that or No you don't need it or No we are tired maybe this week-end. You get the point. It is never a straight out YES!
Our goal is going to be to try to say Yes to a few things everyday.
We want to SAVE the kids from everything and I think we think Controlling them is the answer! When you are saved you learn to let God be in control, because he is. So we need to let our kids feel out of control so they know it is OK, and that only God is perfect!
