Family Pictures!

We took Family Pictures, and I can't wait to see how they turned out.  We went a little country this time, took pictures in front of a barn and against some hay bails!  :-)

Friday Night Carnival!

We took the kids to the Pine Island Carnival Friday night.  It really was like the fair, we had food, rides and sweet!  A wonderful time was had by all.  We were so worried it would rain, but the rain held out until right when we were leaving! Perfect Night!

Funny things kids say!

This is not related but I am going to start this post saying Luke is going to start Basketball and Ashlyn is starting Dance. They both start November 7th and are excited. I took some pictures of them last night, but some setting on my camera is messed up because they are blurry. I have got to sit down and work with it. I took pictures because since Luke is starting Basketball I wanted to get him a little Practice outfit so he could dress up and really feel like he is starting Basketball since we will not get his uniform until closer to his 1st game in December. I also got Ashlyn some tights and leg warmers (can you say CUTE?), as well as a new tutu. As I suspected it was a huge hit, and that was the 1st thing they did when I got home was come in and see it laying on the couch and wanted to put it on. They ate supper in their little outfits and even went back out to play with them on.

So back to the post, Funny things kids say! Luke and Ashlyn wanted to know what would happen if I got a speeding ticket? I could not figure out why and remembered they wanted me to speed up yesterday morning and catch a man on the motorcycle. I told them I could not because if I did I would get a speeding ticket. So this am they wanted to know what would happen if I got a speeding ticket. I told them that if I got a speeding ticket I would have to pay a big fine, and that I would rather buy food and pretty things than pay a fine. Luke said so if you got a speeding ticket you would use all your money on your plastic card (meaning my debit card)! Yep! The plastic card is the new currency. And by the time the kids get older that is the only thing they will need anyway.

Ashlyn is back on her honey kick! Tells Luke no honey, or in a minute honey. It is just so funny to hear.

Tinkerbell Ashlyn waved her wand over me and said she was going to turn me into a cow!

We have been counting the days down to go to our Pine Island Halloween Festival. The kids are so exited they can hardly stand it. It is Friday, then we have a party Saturday night and Sunday church and then festivals Monday. I might should ask to come in late Tuesday. 

9 week report- Ashlyn

Ashlyn is shy and sweet.  She is a big helper to Mrs. Webster.  Mrs. Webster lets Ashlyn pass out papers and so on.  She is the Teachers Pet.  She loves school.  I am not thrilled with the dress code, but am trying my best to deal with it since Ashlyn is having such a wonderful time.  Ashlyn goes to school until 11:30 and then they eat lunch and she transitions into after school care.  The after school workers love Ashlyn.  One thing that Mrs. Webster did tell me is Ashlyn is a little bit of a dare devil when it come to the playground.  She is wonderful in class.  One day they were at the playground and Ashlyn was at the top of the playground and fell forward and did a flip and fell straight to the ground.  The teacher saw the entire thing and ran to get Ashlyn she swears Ashlyn jumped and Ashlyn said she fell.  I am inclined to believe Ashlyn only because I know how accident prone she is. All in All Ashlyn loves school and the teachers adore her.  She received great marks and had 2 things she needs to still master.  I don't feel they work with Ashlyn as much as they did Luke, but we do have a different teacher and of course Ashlyn is a different child and learns differently.   Her 3's and D's! The teacher said that Ashlyn goes with the flow and is a happy little girl who wears short skirts.  LOL Ok she did not say that about the skirt I just had to add that part for me in years to come.

9 week report - Luke

We went to have our 1st Parent Teacher Conference, Friday 10/21.  Luke is a very bright child who is FULL of energy. He has a hard time staying focused.  He unties his shoes about 100 times a day and can play with a speck of sand ALL day.  He is showing some signs of boredom.  They have 30 minute project time and Luke sits at a table by himself.  It kind of upset me, but the teacher said she will move him back soon and it is NOT all day.  If he is by himself he does his work, if he is with others he makes noises and wants to be the class clown.  Now oh where did he get that from??  I was the sweetest child!  LOL!  We are going to try to keep him on task.  He has to make lunch choices and he has a really hard time deciding.  He will stand up after everyone has already made their choice and be like what are the options again?  The teacher said he is just not listening and playing with that grain of sand.  I feel he will out grow this, because we all know he got this HONEST!

The Teacher said that Luke has a Heart of Gold and is Pour Sweetness and Full of Energy!  She said he really does want to please and really, really wants to do the right thing.  He got all great marks with a few needs to master.  All in All he is doing Great.  Kindergarten has been a transition for us all.

Shop till you drop!

We shopped till we dropped this week-end!

My cousin Paige, My sisters Sheila & Nicole and my Mom came this week-end and we went on a shopping spree.  I thought I was ready.  I was already sore from working at Harvest Hope Food Bank and we walked and stood and shopped from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM.  I am so sore.  It was fun.  We had lots of fun Friday night stayed up til 1:00 AM talking so we were tired.  We went to bed around 11:00 PM Saturday.  Then we got up Sunday and went shopping again for 2 hours.

Wow!  We did make a huge dent in our Christmas Gifts!  And SANTA is done!!!

My husband and Papa Boozer & Dang are wonderful!  They all took such wonderful care of our babies this week-end while the Momma's had a good time.  Pat needs some alone time!

Midlands Day of Action

Today was the United Way's Midlands Day of Action.  Some coworkers and I went to Harvest Hope Food Bank and sorted and bagged food.  It was hard work but rewarding.  So glad we were able to give back.

Karate Kid Take II

Pat went to Luke's Karate class yesterday and Luke did so good.  I really wish I had pictures to share however I don't.  Pat said that Luke broke two boards with his hand and one with this foot and that he is doing great!  The level boards he broke was for Green Belts and he is still a white belt.  That was only his 4th class.  We are so proud of him!  Can't wait to go and see it for myself!

Fair

Everyone keeps telling us we are awful for not taking the kids to the fair.  Luke said "we have gone to the fair at Pine Island".  Tell us Luke! :-)  We don't have to pay or fight the crowd!  It is more about fighting the crowd.

Wonderful Week-End!

Our Friday Night Party was extra special this Friday. Our Neighbor's came over and we had a little too much fun, but at least all they had to do was walk home.  We will have to do that again!!

Saturday Pat took the kids to see Papa Ryan, I was nursing a little hang over and the house really needed lots of attention, so I cleaned, and scrubbed and then took a nap.  Woke up from a nap and cleaned and scrubbed some more.   Then Pat came home with the kids around 1:30 and he took a little nap while the kids played outside, and at 4:30 I said lets get dressed and go out to eat as a family.  This is rare for us.  We had a Pepper Pals free meal that Luke earned at school so we went to Chili's.  It was fun!  Then we hit Kohl's, and TJmaxx.  That is what I call a Super Fun Saturday.  Pat and the kids did not care much for the shopping!

10/15 - Livie got stitches.  Sheila posted a picture on face book it is on her right cheek bone.  Jedd Alan was digging in the garden, and was coming up with the shovel and Livie was bending down and they met in the middle.  Livie had to get 5 stitches.  I will have to try to remember to post pictures.  Our poor little niece and nephew.  I know is scared the daylights out of both of them.

Sunday we joined Holland Ave. Baptist Church Membership.  So glad to finally make the official move.  We love our church family.

This is the type of week-end we could do again, except take it a little easier on Friday night!

Ashlyn's All About Me Board!

The second child really does get left out, and I try my very best not to do that.  It is Ashlyn's month to be on the All About Me Board at school.  I was able to go by and snap some pictures of it this morning.

Ashlyn was so super excited!

School Field Trip at the Zoo and Grandparents Day!

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.  Ashlyn and Luke both had a super special Friday.  It was a lot of work, and was totally worth it.

I had my 1st Field Trip where I was a chaperon.  It was wonderful!  Pat's friend Nick had 3 girls and I was to have 2 boys.  Well Nick and I both thought bathroom breaks, and did not really know how we were going to make that work.  So we paired up, so that I could take the girls and he could take the boys.  Well Reco's has his own chaperon show up at the last minute so I only had my little Luke.  But Nick still had his daughter and 2 other girls.  He made out like a bandit and well I guess Luke did two, because he got to hang out with 3 pretty girls the entire day!  They only went to the potty once, so it worked out great.  I am sore and indication of how out of shape I am. The memories made are totally worth it.  We got a new Zoo membership with the Explorer pass, and it is the way to go!

Ashlyn had a special day as well. It was grandparents day at her school.  And she should feel special she had two sets of Grandparents show up.  MeMaw and PawPaw and Grammy and Mr. Will.  They were able to have a little refreshments view a slide show of pictures, then see a little play, visit Ashlyn's room and for the grand finally went to have lunch with Ashlyn.  Ashlyn felt so special, and I think the grandparents did as well.  Ashlyn made me feel awful, because she really wanted me to stay for Grandparents day, and I had already said I would be a chaperon. It really tore at my heart strings when she wanted to know why I could not stay. I kept saying you are going to have a special day with just the grandparents.  Finally she was like ok, when it is my turn to go to the Zoo will you go with me?  I said Yes!  So it better work out!

Walk for Life and Birthday Fun!

Saturday Joan, Ashlyn and I participated in the Walk for Life. We laughed so much Friday night and then we went walking Saturday and had an equally good time.  Ashlyn was a little tired at first but she perked up about half way though the walk.  She walked some, rode some, walked some, rode some.

Then we came home to get ready for my Happy Hour/Nail Party!  It was fun, started at 3:00 and ended around 11:30 PM.

Aunt Nicole Bought Sugar Cane for all of us!
