Funniest thing happened last night!

Funniest thing happened last night. Luke has this boy on his team who was just way bigger than the other 5 year olds. I think his league is 5-7 any who. So this kid was tall and every time he threw the ball it was all net. He could dribble way better than all the other players and honestly I was thinking Luke and all the other kids were just way behind.

Well the coach made me crack up he said “Hey Lynda” (she was the lady that matched up the players.) “He said you know that kid we thought was just a big kid? Well he is in the 5th Grade!!!!!!” The way he said it totally caught me off guard and was the funniest thing I had heard in a while. So we had a 10 year old playing basketball with the 5 year olds. Hehehehe! No wonder he was so much better. I had actually had Pat take Luke for some one on one practice, cause I thought oh my on game day he needs to be ready. I think about this and laugh! Oh how funny! So the 10 year old is going to be moved to the 5th grade team and not the K-5 team.

It really did work out, because the 5th grader really helped our kids hustle. Oh my I can’t stop cracking up. I guess you had to be there!

~Creamy Brussels Sprouts~

Creamy Brussels Sprout

You need:

1/2 Onion

3 cloves garlic

2 bags of the Green Giant brussel sprouts in butter sauce

1/2 cup chicken broth

3/4 cup whipping cream

1/2 cup shredded parmesan

Cook onions and garlic in a sauce pan with the chicken broth.
Microwave the brussel sprouts in the bags.
Put the brussel sprouts in a pan after you microwave them, cut them up. I sliced mine into 3 or 4 pieces.
Add the whipping cream to your sauce pan with the broth and onions/garlic. Let cook for 2 minutes on low.
Pour the sauce over your cooked/cut up brussel spouts. Sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese and Broil until Cheese is golden brown.
That is it you are done. It was SUPER YUMMY..

Clemson/Carolina you can't help but love these kids!

Road Leading to Lonoke!

Pat went to Papa Ryan's yesterday to plant trees, and Luke was a big helper.  Papa Ryan gave Luke a huge bag of candy, which he shared with Ashlyn when we arrived to ride the 4-wheeler and visit with Papa.  We are not all work no play.  It was beautiful as usual, and I could not help but take lots of pics.

Turkey Day 2011!

Man did we have a blast!  We were able to spend the night with Papa Boozer and Dang the night before Thanksgiving and spend the night afterwards.  We had a nice time.

Thanksgiving Day we had out feast, then went to see more family.  Enjoyed seeing Aunt Patrice, Uncle Mike, all the girls and kids.  Everyone has grown so very much!  I felt a wrinkle just thinking about it.

When we got back to Papa Boozer and Dangs we shot skeet and rode 4 wheelers.  Lots of fun.  Our Holidays are getting better and better!  Love them so much.  Fantastic Thanksgiving!

1st and Only Dance Class!

Ashlyn and I went a couple of weeks ago to a dance class.  She did not like it so she does not want to go back.  She was the only one in the class so I think that had something to do with it.  Right now she is not doing anything we will have to wait until I can find something else.  Ashlyn did great.  She followed every move and is really a good little dancer!

WMHK

I love the little saying on WMHK:

Every day you have to get up & forgive the person who hurt you.  You may not feel it right away, but one day you’ll wake up & the hurt will be gone.

Dancing Dress Rehearsal!

Ashlyn is so excited to starting dance Monday she is counting the days down.
Here are some pictures of her tonight trying on her dance outfit.

Basketball Try-Outs

It really was not a try out, but that is what Luke thought it was.  He is going to start playing basketball at a Church down the road from our house, through Upward.  He is so excited.  Pat and I watched everyone's try-outs and were getting nervous.  Luke has never really dribbled or shot basketball.  I was just praying the whole time he would make one basket because he was the youngest and I did not want him to feel bad.  Well little man once again showed his true athletic ability.  He shot 4 baskets, and can dribble and walk.  Pat and I were just blown away. When he made the 1st shot I yelled and Pat clapped.  I mean we were excited.  Thankfully most of the parents had cleared out by the time it was Luke's turn.  He did everything just as good as the other boys except the lay ups but for his 1st time he did GREAT!  I am still a baseball mom want a be, but soccer grew on me and I am hoping Basketball will as well.
