Trip to Mississippi

Our trip to Mississippi was fun, and we would not trade one moment we got to spend together and with Caleb.  To see Luke and Ashlyn look at Caleb as if he was a celebrity was just priceless.  Pat and I are so proud of Caleb not just for making it to the World Series, but for the wonderful young man he is.  Our prayers have paid off and have been answered.

He is a strong, smart, handsome, well mannered young man.  He is a spitting image of his father, and thank the good Lord he has so much integrate, it was profound to see.  We knew that he was a wonderful young man, but just seeing it in a large setting really made it hit home.  Some examples, he was not embarrassed about Luke and Ashlyn he welcomed them over with him and his friends. When he got his metal, he was the ONLY ONE that took off his hat yes a couple of boys did not have a hat on, but to watch him towards the end be the only one to take off his hat it just showed us so much wisdom and respect and just the young man he is becoming.  Please keep your hands on him God and help him continue to filter out the negative and rise above it ALL!

Highlights from our trip:

  • Seeing Caleb, play some killer ball!  The boy hit two Grand Slams in the World Series! Not to mention he pitched a ton of great innings, as well as being the catcher.
  • Luke and Ashlyn having bonding time, at one point they were playing pictionary in the back seat together, with NO ELECTRONICS.  Two 10 hour trips where they were the best two kids a parent could ask for.
  • Pat and I actually had about 5 hours to talk with the kids sleeping.  It was extremely nice.

We had a few Low Lights, but nothing earth shattering:

  • It WAS HOT.  You think it is HOT in SC, well HONEY you have not experienced a heat like MS.
  • We were in the MIDDLE of no WHERE.  Nothing really to sight see.  We got lost the one time we went out so we just gave up.
  • We had to get a tire plugged, it took an hour, but honestly the kids had fun they did not want to leave Firestone.  It was funny.  They were like awwwh that was fast can we stay longer.
So you know me and I took LOTS, and LOTS of pictures.  I put some on Facebook, here are my favorites.  It was hard to get the list down.

Ashlyn took this picture of Caleb hitting a GrandSlam over the fence!  2nd one in the World Series!

This is what I am talking about! Admiration for this youngman!

You have to see the LOVE!  TWO BOOZER BOYS I LOVE!

THE BOOZER BOYS I LOVE THE MOST!

Our BABIES!  Pat and I are the luckiest parents alive!

We made it!

It was a long trip.  We made it.  Pat was more of a kid than the kids.  We could not have asked for any better children during the trip.  They were a little wound up when we arrived.  The 1st thing we did was order Pizza then after we ate we went to the pool for a swim.  It seems to be a little more humid here if that is even possible.  It cooled off quickly however maybe that is due to the fact that we were swimming.  Luke slept with Pat and Ashlyn slept with me.

Luke woke up at 6:15 and Pat had already slipped downstairs to have coffee and Luke wanted to know where he was the entire time.  I finally went and took the kids down stairs and we met up with Pat and had breakfast.

We went sight seeing and got lost we were back at the hotel by lunch.  The kids and Pat are heading down to swim.

WLTX

http://www.wltx.com/sports/article/195043/4/Midlands-Baseball-Team-Headed-To-Dixie-Youth-Ozone-World-Series-

Columbia, SC (WLTX) The Midland Dixie Youth Ozone baseball team from West Columbia is heading to Mississippi.
The local 11-12 year-olds have secured a berth in the Dixie Youth Ozone World Series and will represent South Carolina in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Two of the baseball players on the team have dads that represented South Carolina in the 1977 Dixie Youth Baseball World series and won.
The Dixie Youth Ozone league is designed for players 11-12-year-olds. They can steal bases, lead off before the pitch and the field itself is bigger with a 50ft mound and 70 feet between the bases.

Games

These kids are coming up with all sorts of stuff.  They created a game the other day, they get in your face and say "I love you, Honey".  If you laugh you lose.  Needless to say I have not won yet.

Tonight, they have ponytail holders all up their arms, and they represent powers.  They each have 30 and Pat and I only have two!  LOL!

Aslyn thinks she is a boy so going topless is normal for her.  I am giving her a few more carefree years.

We Care II

We are heading out for another We Care project.  Feeding people who are one step from being homeless.  We have been donating food for the last two months, but this is going to be the first one we are going to be able to participate in.  Let God use us in a mighty way, and I pray we make a difference!

THEY WON!

I can't even tell you how excited we are about Midlands win last night!.

They were down 9-2, and then they got 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. Making it 9-5, bases are loaded in the bottom of the 6th, they walk Caleb making it 9-6, then out of nowhere Gage knocks a Home Run bringing 3 runners in along with himself. Making it 10-9! They Won by 1 POINT!
We were all in shock and disbelief even the guy on the radio was just stunned. We could hear the team in the back ground saying, "We Won?". We are headed to the WORLD SERIES in MISSISSIPPI! Wow, I am so proud of Caleb, his team, the coaches. We thank GOD for making this possible. I KNOW Ashley Boozer is grinning from ear to ear in Heaven saying THAT'S MY BOY!
It was all a blur, we knew we just had to go see him play. Through excitement and tears we booked a room. All the room are booked but we found something in Greenville about 40 minutes away so we booked it with the hopes of getting something closer before time to leave. But all I know is we are heading to the World Series!!!!!! I just like the sound of that!
We have booked us a room in Greenville, MS from July 27th -July 31st.
M-I -crocked letter -crocked letter- I -hump back- hump back- I. We will be seeing you soon, with some Great Ballplayers! Bring it home BOYS! I have faith in you!

VBS Bible School

We started our summer bible study lastnight!  Pat and I are Tribe leaders so we are basically teaching the class.  We had 5 girls, and I think it was a little outside of Pat's comfort zone.  He did great!  The kids are excited about day two!  They really enjoyed their talk with Daniel and shopping in the Market Place.

I got my yearly Thyroid Ultrasound and it is all clear.  The cool thing about having it done by your doctor is you get the results right then and there!  Praise God!

My Laptop is down, so it will be a while until I will be able to post any pictures.  It will only be text for a while until we figure out if we are fixing the old one or buying a new one.

Hope everyone is having a super great summer!

Luke walks around the house looking for everyone, and he will just tell ya he was trying to find you to tell you he loves you!

Ashlyn tells me she loves me from Heaven to the Roots!

Such sweet babies we have!  Love them so.

Summer Lovin!

Summer, Summer is in FULL swing.  My oh my we have had such a blast.  This summer we have already gone to the beach twice, the lake a couple of times and enjoyed the heck out of being members of a pool.  Friday is our favorite day to go.  We can grab a Pizza and chill by the pool as long as we want!  Luke and Ashlyn have made so many friends at the pool.

We have been on the road or at the pool more than home!  Next week we start VBS.  Pat and I are Tribe Leaders, and we are taking the kids back in time, when Jesus was alive!  We are super excited and can't wait for this wonderful experience!  We are going to have a market place, and Daniel is going to be able to tell the kids what it was like!

We just got back from the Lake.  We went to visit Dang and Papa Boozer, and had fun swimming at the lake and catching a few fireworks!  Boy did we have an awful strom lastnight!  When I got to work this morning it got so bad at one point we had 18,000 customers out!  That made for a pretty busy morning this morning.
