Chili for the Extended Stay!

It was our turn to head up the extended stay.  We headed to Pine Island last night, and did not get home until 10:30 then, wet got up at 6:30 AM to start cooking.  It was a good bit of work, since Pat went to Marion Thursday Night, and I went shopping for supplies to feed 40 people!  The kids did pretty good.

We went into WalMart, and I walked down two isles, and then we walked out.  I can't put myself thru the WalMart experience right now (I am so busy I am practically working thru lunch).  As if my life is not hectic enough, we have to put up with that!!!  Don't get me wrong We love to save money, but 2 kids, a stressed out Mommy and WalMart....well lets just say they don't mix!

Pat said I am not built from stressful situations and I would have to agree. I woke up on getting things done, and getting stressed out.  We made it to our We Care event an hour early.  Had everything set up by the time the Sunday School Class arrived, and had managed to scorch the chili in the process.  It took 15 minutes or less to scorch the chili!

We picked out the black stuff, and it tasted great.  Everyone wanted to know about the smokey flavor LOL!  They really enjoyed it, because it was all gone.

6:30 AM Let's get this Chili Started!

They asked for something to do! Promise!

Hunting with Daddy!

Luke, Pat and Ashlyn have been feeding up a Deer Stand at Papa Ryan.  We have even caught footage of Papa Ryan feeding the deer on the game camera.

Luke went with dad 10/14/12, and Ashlyn went 10/21/12.

It is just a chance to sit in the deer stand with dad and whisper about the squirrles. And get some cookies from Papa Ryan.  He loves it!  He will have his cookie and candy stash filled up.  It is so funny he sends home either an apple or orange also, I guess to make mom happy! LOL!

Cooking

I have been wanting some home cooked and good food!  Well yesterday I went to town cooking!

We had my famous Turkey-Meatloaf.  It is the one that I got off of Oprah, the lady that sneaks veggies in her kids food.  I am drawing a blank right now as to the name of the cook book.  It is Jessica Sinfield.  Then homemade mashed potatoes, and Onion and Broccoli Corn Bread.  It was all so yummy!

I whipped up a Quiche this morning for breakfast with the extra Broccoli and Onions.  Listen to me, someone who rarely cooks, whipping up something.  LOL!

I did make up the corn bread recipe, and it turned out pretty good.

1 - Box of Jiffy
2 Cups Cooked Broccoli
1 Onion Sauteed
1 Cup Lite Sour Cream
Splash of Milk
2 Eggs
Table Spoon Smart Balance Butter

Mix with the blinder and bake according to the Jiffy Box!  Good Stuff, Luke ate 4 pieces, and Ashlyn ate 2!

Halloween Costume Sneak Peak!

Sneak Peak of The kids Halloween Costumes!

To see Luke in his costume, can only be described as Hilarious! The boy really thinks he is Jaden, the Red Power Ranger. He has the moves, and the muscles are his fav. part.

Ashlyn is just pure sweet in her Cheerleading outfit. I am looking for a Carolina one, but this will do for now. She is happy, however I had to talk her out of being a dragon??? Don't know why Miss Thing wants to wear boy stuff all the time.

Kickin Chicken!

Pat took off of work today to help cook at Church.  It is called the Kickin Chicken!  It is a HUGE fundraiser, and these guys got up at 1:00 AM to cook chicken ALL day.  It is 6:50 PM and Pat is still not home.

Poor fella is going to be tired!

They cooked over 1,800 Chicken Halfs today!

More Birthday Fun!

I am still celebrating my birthday!  It is really good to be 37!

Nicole and Luke came to celebrate with us, and walked in the Walk for Life with me and the kids.  This was the week-end that Pat was sick! :-( He is better now, thankfully!

Then mom and Will stopped Sunday after church and took us out to eat at Applebee's, complete with a Blondie Walnut Brownie!  It was heaven!  I love this thing for real!  I was wondering how I gained some weight, but between Krispy Kreme, and this thing! No wonder!  It was worth it.

Then to top it off Joni came by and feed us Pizza lastnight!  Yummy, Yummy!  We had Ice Cream because little man Luke, got ALL of his words right in the Smart Room!

All 3 celebrations were complete with presents!  I am one lucky girl!  I honestly do love my life and am so glad God picked me to have such a wonderful family!

This week-end we might go and get some plates painted at Mad Pottery, that was part of what Pat got me for my Birthday!  Let the birthday fun keep on coming!

Best Sister in the World!

Ashlyn is the the BEST Sister, and Luke told her so!

She was digging in Grammy and Mr. Will's goody bag and spots the Angry Bird watch first, and all Luke said was "Wow I really like that". So Ashlyn not knowing another one was in the bag she gives it to her Brother. He told her "Sister your are the Best Sister". Well today he was taking off his watch for Karate and it broke. As soon as he got home Ashlyn gave him hers, and told him "he could have it forever"! Luke told me that she really is the Best Sister in the world. :-)

Love these babies of ours!

Week-End

Our week-end started off kind of rocky.  Pat ended up at the Urgent Care with Food Poisoning.  IT WAS NOT ANYTHING I COOKED.  It may have been just a bug, but the fact of the matter it lead us to the Urgent Care and was given 2 different Antibiotics.

He is fine now and after he got home and ate a banana it started him on his road to recovery.

Nicole and her boyfriend Luke came to spend the night Friday Night and Luke and Ashlyn were smitten with him.  We hung out and carved pumpkins then we had to get some rest, because we were getting up bright and early for the Walk for Life.

We got up at 5:55 and got ready.  Pat was having tightness in the chest so we kept him home to rest.  We think it was a side effect of one of the antibiotics.  So he is down to one now.

Nicole and Luke helped me walk with Luke and Ashlyn.  It was not that bad.  I am still battling some chest congestion, but it really stayed at bay while we walked.

Then we headed to Krispy Kreme and celebrated the 75th Birthday with them.  We came home and had Corn DAWGS to get ready for the Carolina Game.  The Game Cocks smoaked Georgia by the way.  I was feeling kind of bad for Georgia, and everyone in Sunday School this morning called me crazy.  The Quarter Back for the other team McMurry, was just doing so bad.  He was throwing balls all over the place.  I was hoping they would call the game.  They did finally get a touchdown I was asleep and don't know how!

Today after church we got to see Grammy and Mr. Will.  They actually took me and the family out to eat for my Birthday.  The blondie brownie and food were super good.  Super sweet of them to come by and see us and take us out to eat.  They even brought the goodie bag, and each kid got 9 things each.  They played with all the toys for hours!!

Funny

I am feeling better by the way, and so far so good no one else has fallen ill!

Ashlyn is DETERMINED. I swear when she wants to learn something she wants to LEARN it RIGHT THEN!!!! Her shoes for instance, she decided that morning she was ready. Pat showed her that night, and she got it. Her friend Ty's name got on the board. (Once they can write their 1st name, they get to write it on the board and get a special prize.) She cried to me that she was not on the board and could not do it, and I told her yes she could that Ty only has TWO LETTERS. I sat down and started 3 lines for her, and she copied all three lines and told her we would practice again tomorrow. NO NEED for all that. She went right to school wrote her name and got on the board. How do you like those apples? Pat said she is so much like me it is not funny! Both kids are quite stubborn and determined.

Luke wanted to know how to spell Hiyeeeaah this morning.  He said you know what I do in Karate, the sound I make!  Cute!
