Down on the Farm!

I went down on the farm today!  I didn't get to go on the hay ride, but I did play on the playground with the farm girl before I headed back to work.

Karate Kid and Walk for Life Princess!

Luke starts Karate tomorrow, and to say he is excited is a understatement.  How cool and wonderful is it they offer it during daycare hours!  He got his uniform today and had to try it on, and I must say he looks so stinkin cute.  He even fixed his hair with gel for this picture.

Ashlyn is going to walk with Dang and I in the Walk for Life, and my friend Jeanette made Jaelynn the most adorable outfit and I begged her to please make Ashlyn one.  She whipped it up tonight while Ashlyn and I went over to play with Bradley and Jaelynn.  My friends are so sweet and talented, I love them and am jealous!  Ashlyn wanted to put the dress on in the car and surprise Pat and Luke when we got home.  Isn't it and she just adorable?!?!

We are so happy to be Luke and Ashlyn's Mommy and Daddy!

Yesterday and Today

Ok so yesterday I spent my lunch hour and some time at work on the phone with Daycare's. I was on a mission and wanted to yank Ashlyn from Grace so fast it would make their heads spin. After yesterday I found one possible option, and it came time to enroll her today and I just can't do it. It seems to be a great school, but I just don’t know enough about it and no one seems to have heard of it. I will have to just go and get her some longer skirts for now and bite my tong. I am trying. I can’t promise I will not have a flare up later and be ready to go on my quest again. I disagree with the dress code ENTIRLY and the skirt being too short when she had leggings on just about did me in, but I have to be the bigger person. Next year I hope she will be able to go to Holland Ave. or Springdale.

Guess I will have to grin and bear it right now, because I just can’t bring myself to switch schools right now. Although I reserve the right to at a later date if I find what I am looking for.

So for now I am going to leave her at Grace until May 2012. Then it is a whole new ball game.

I stole this printable and idea from Kelly’s friends blog. I love it, and it helped with my decision today.

1st Time Skating!

Ok so we went skating for the 1st time as a family. Caleb went with us and we are so glad, however he did not hang out with us much, and the pictures Pat took somehow the camera ate them. So we have no pictures of all the skaters. Caleb is in the videos however. You will have to view on FB, they were too large for the blog.
I am going to try to type our experience, but know I will fall short. It was so funny and I will never be able to tell it as funny as it was. Luke keeps telling us Thank You so much for taking me rollerskating, it was wonderful! The experience brought back so many memories for me. They still play the same music, the floor looks the same, the skates look the same, the little round seats look the same, the snack bar looks the same. It was just the same! Pat has never really skated, and he kept tell us all to be careful and for me to remember I am no spring chicken anymore. He did not want me to get hurt.  I did fall and I had my Ipod in my hand, so I bent it a little awkward when I fell, and it is sore today.

Ok so when we arrive Caleb gets his speed skates, and Pat decided he just was not going to skate. The kids and I get the brown cow skates. I took Ashlyn 1st. Luke fell while we were taking the picture that wasn’t so he was a little afraid, and wanted to take his skates off, I told him to watch me and Ashlyn and I would be back for him. I took Ashlyn on the floor she did so good and when I got back he was ready to go. Then I took Luke he did great as well. We went around a couple of times both kids, and Pat walked Luke around the floor in his shoes. The kids got tired so they wanted to take off the skates, and hit the snack bar. We arrived at 2:00, and this was 3:00 I was thinking we will be leaving soon, and I felt sure Caleb did not want to leave this early. The kids got a snow cone and then we went to play the Indoor Golf. That was fun. Then they had the foot race. Ashlyn won (He gave her a head start and then she went the long way anyway LOL), and Luke ran like the wind, but was up against 8 year olds and well his little legs could not beat them. Then we put the skates back on for a 2nd time. Luke’s were a different pair, him and Pat called them speed skates. Ashlyn and I got our same skates back. Pat walked Luke around and kept mouthing to me that Luke was getting worse. Pat was sweating and kept mouthing that I had to help him, Luke was just getting worse. We made the change, but the kids were not happy and wanted to switch back. Him and Pat make their way back to get a new pair of skates. Pat said Luke’s were too fast! Apparently the wheels needed to be tightened. They get Luke a new pair with tighter wheels, and then we were off again. I took Luke around and our song was playing “Party in the USA” and then Ashlyn again, she let go of my hands and wanted to do it by herself. They did so good, both of them. I am so proud of them.

We will keep this in mind and in our back pocket. You can skate, and play in door golf all day for $6.00 per kid, that is the ticket. The skating rink was packed, and had a line to get in the door.

Another Note!

Today, Ashlyn got another note, that her skirt was to short!

A day of fun!

Last night Luke, Ashlyn and Pat camped out until around 9:30 then they came in a went to bed.  Good thing because it started pouring down at 4:00 AM this morning!  :-) They had lots of fun helping Pat with the fire.

Pat went hunting and the kids and I hit Chick-fil-a, and we ran into Mrs. Katherine, Callie Grace and Caleb how exciting.   Before we ran into them I was able to play on my new Ipod Touch!  That thing is awesome!  YEAH!

Here are some pictures from Chick-fil-a today! Pictures taken on the TOUCH!  :-) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all these babies~ GOD is so good!

How lucky are we?  To get to hang out with these babies every day?  Very lucky!

Today was Saturday, the kids are learning the days of the week and like Pat and I really enjoy Friday's as much as us, because that means no work or school on Saturday.  Today we woke up, and Pat got the Chilli on, and we went shopping.  I think Pat thinks I kind of tricked him, but I have no idea what he is talking about.  LOL!  Major finds today.  Luke needed a light jacket, and I found one with bear claw buttons.  He will want to wear it until he is 35!  He keeps asking if he can wear it.  LOL! And I got Ashlyn a fleece jacket that feels like silk, she loves it.

Speaking of finds.  Ashlyn and I have been on the great boot hunt for 2 years now, and we could not seem to agree.  Well FINALLY yesterday we found THE pair, and they were $30.00 bucks, and I know I am crazy for getting them, but her and I had the meet in the middle moment and I TOOK IT!  She is JUST like me!  When it comes to what she wears it is her way or no way.

We hit Target because she also needed some Tennis Shoes, I swear the only thing growing on that child is her feet.  Luke is also shooting up, but is still in a 4T.  He is out growing it fast however.

Here is a picture from today before heading to Target, and I think it sums up Ashlyn to a T!  She is a girl, however she can roll with the punches, hehehehe! See what I mean........

Mommy Badge!

You know how in girl scouts they give out badges?  Well that is kind of what I feel like all the time being a mommy.  I get Mommy Badges all the time, yesterday was one of those mommy badge moments. Yesterday was the 1st time one of the kids brought home a note that they had been checked for lice because a kid in the class has/had it.  So my badge would ready, 1st Lice Letter sent home/Check.

NOW PLEASE, PLEASE.....DON'T let us get Lice!  I don't want that Mommy Badge!

It is starting to feel like Fall.  Last week-end we toasted up Marshmellows ad it felt wonderful.  I am looking forward to football for the food, yard sales and enjoying our golf cart.  We might have to take a mountain trip this year.  The last week in October is the best time to see the leaves change, and Brevard is SOOO LOVELY!

We had a very stressful yearly check up last week.

Yes, these girls are 4!

Oh my Yes, these girls are 4!

One is ALL GIRL, that would be Miss Alivia.  She takes her baby dolls seriously! Grammy should know.  She had to make a trip BACK to Aynor because THEY left Livie's doll!

The other, our sweet daughter Ashlyn, is ALL TOM BOY!  She loves her dolls, when Luke is not around and likes to shoot her BB GUN!

The one thing they both have in common is they LOVE Each other!  They are cousins and their birthdays are two days apart! These girls are going to be life long friends.

Pure Country

We love going out to Papa Ryan's to get a little of the country life.  Sunday after church we headed to the Vineyard to ride the 4 wheeler, shoot b-b guns and just have some good old country time.

The POCKET Chair is great for hunting!  LOL!
Do you have a pocket chair?  Well Luke has been wanting one for ever, and Pat and I did not know what the heck it was.  My mom and I went to Wal-Mart to let Ashlyn pick out her Birthday presents and Luke saw it and picked it up and said "MOM it is a the Pocket chair".  We got it because he was so happy! It is all about the little things.

This picture cracks me and Pat UP!

Ashlyn's Big Day!

Ashlyn had a good day.  They had cookies at snack time to celebrate her birthday!  She came home with a note after school that her skirt was too short.  Seriously I am ready to pull her out of Grace. I am not a fan of putting woman or little girls in a mold. And TELLING them they have to wear skirts.  The child's shirt was about an inch above the knee, but they want it to the knee! Are you kidding me.  What is the big deal about this DRESS CODE???  They have some nerve, and I had a problem with it but decided I can handle it for ONE YEAR since that is where Luke went.  I think I am going to send her in shorts tomorrow for the heck of it.  It made it even worse to send home the note on her birthday.  I keep telling myself she is only 4 and will not remember this, but it is about to kill me to keep my mouth shut.  I have written a couple of notes to the teacher already and tore them up.  I am not going to pull her yet, but I am most certainly going to do some calling around to find out our options, and SHE WILL NOT BE ATTENDING NEXT YEAR FOR SURE.  Grace is getting ridiculous.  I am so glad we finally started visiting other churchs.  You should not drad to go to church.  You should want to go, and enjoy it and learn from it.  Ok I am going to calm down.  I could go on about this all night and that is not going to do any of us any good.

So I asked Ashlyn where she wanted to eat for Lunch today she said "1st I want to go to Chick-fil-a to play and get Ice Cream and then I want to go to McDonalds and get fries and then I want to go to the  Pig and Chicken (What they call Carolina Wings because it has a picture of a pig and chicken on the sign) to play fooseball and eat supper".  We will need to pick just one.

We went to D's. It was yummy and we had a good meal to celebrate Ashlyn turn 4.

Luke did not get a stamp today which means he did something wrong.  He hates school also, because he is getting in trouble every day it feels like.  I mean he is talking in class, and does not get a stamp or he pulled a kids shirt, again no stamp, today he was playing sticks with a little boy in class while they should have been doing school work, NO STAMP. What is going on with Luke?  Is he that bad of a kid/student?  We might have to go see if we can figure this out and put a stop to it.

We stopped by my work so they could see my desk and pick up the Strawberries that I left at work, that was fun for them both.  Then we came home and had milkshakes and strawberries, and they are still up.

Got to get to bed to get ready for school tomorrow, so Ashlyn can get another note about her skirt being short, because I do have one that I am sending that is the EXACT same size as the other one she wore today but in another stamp.  Then I will pick Luke up with no stamp, and head to have Luke's 5 year old physical and Ashlyn's 4 year shots.  Not looking forward to the doctor visit tomorrow.

Happy BIRTHDAY to ASHLYN!

I say this too often, but seriously this is going by FAST! I remember how Ashlyn came into the world so quickly, and how she had tried to make a early debut 2 months early. 09/07/07 I went to work, and I KNEW our little Ashlyn was going to be born.
I had a doctor’s appointment at 10:00 am and I told the doctor then that today was my delivery date, and he told me it was not. He was on call so I put his cell phone number in my phone. I went into my boss' office and gave him my passwords, and a rundown of where everything stood on my desk. He let us leave early that day at 2:30 p.m. I came home and packed up Luke's pack-n-play & bag then laid around and waited for Pat to come home. When I left work at 2:30 p.m. my contractions were 10 minutes apart. They were still weak at that time. Pat comes home a little early, I called and told him my contractions were getting stronger, so he got home around 5:00 p.m. took a quick shower and we rushed to get Luke from daycare. I sat in the car and remember thinking that I was going to have Ashlyn right then. The contractions eased off a little, and we took Luke to MeMaw's and Paw Paw's we unloaded him and his stuff, and I was trying to tell them what I had packed and just stuff they might need to know. I just finally looked at everyone and said I have to get to the hospital right now. At some point we did call the doctor, and I called my mom from the car on the way to the hospital. I remember mom asking me if I thought it was false labor, and I assured her that I was in labor.
We finally arrive at the hospital. I had laryngitis and could hardly speak. I think we arrived around 6:00 or 7:00, I mean we got a lot done fast! They start taking blood and hooking me up to stuff, and I remember I kept asking for something for pain. I wanted something now. The Anesthesia Assistant came in and was doing everything by the book. And then they gave me the Nubian, and the contractions eased a little but they did not go away. Pat's little nurse friend so happened to be in the room when both of our babies were born, and her and Pat had a catch up session both times. If I could have spoke I might had said something ugly, but God took my voice thankfully.  I don't think it would have helped anyone! The Anesthesia Assistant kept saying I have to get your blood work done before you can have the epidural and then the Anesthesiologist came in and stopped her and said we don't have time for that. We are giving it to her now! Thank you! Once I got that I felt no more contractions! It did not have time to take effect totally, but the contractions were at bay. I dozed off for about 30 minutes. I woke up at 8:00 pm pushed three times, and Ashlyn was born at 8:08 pm.

6 lbs 13.9oz and 18 1/2 inches long.

Ashlyn was the sweetest baby, I would have to wake her up to feed her. She never cried and if she did it was the softest whimper. She made me want 20 more kids just like her. Ashlyn you have always, always been the happiest baby. I just loved your little chubby legs, now you are so skinny. You eat all the time! We still are amazed at how laid back you are and how you make us laugh. You do the funniest things! I think you are going to keep that brother of yours straight!  We love you baby girl!  You have made us so happy.  No other child is sweeter than you.  You are our sunshine. God has blessed us!
