We took family pictures this week-end. I hired a photographer,
but snapped these of the kids! We had fun, the ducks were
really putting on a show for the kids! After we grabbed lunch
and packed and picked up our bags, we hit the road to Marion
for my granddad's funeral. We started our trip with a detour
on I-77 the I-26 exit was being paved, so we had to go to Two
Notch, and turn around. That was about 30 minutes. We finally
get on the interstate and at Clemson Road the traffic was at a dead
stop. We had to detour, and go around it. From what I can tell
on the news is two fire fighters were putting out a brush fire, and
were hit by a car. One died and the other is still in ICU. I really
hope he is ok, and I am very sorry about the other one.
I will be praying for them and their families. An hour and 40
minute trip turned into a 3 and half hour trip. We stopped
for a potty break, about an hour and half through, and Luke
got a Honey Bun, and Ashlyn got a pack of doughnuts. Ashlyn
was getting a water, and Pat did not realize her hand was still
in the freezer door and it caught Ashlyn's fingers.
I got her calmed down and she is fine, no broken fingers. Just
needed some loving. After Luke eats his Honey Bun, he told us
that his tummy hurt. I did not think anything of it. He acted fine
wanted to ride his bike when we arrived at my moms. I leave to
go to the viewing, and Pat stays with the kids. They get in the
car and head up to Pizza Hut. Pat is getting the Pizza and Luke
said my stomach hurts really bad, and then it happens. All over
my car, up to the dash board. Pat is not so good with this kind of
stuff. He strips Luke down in the parking lot, and wipes down
the car seat the best he can, and then he heads back to my moms
house. He puts Luke in the tub, and cleans him up, puts him in his
PJ's and wraps him up on the couch. Then he tends to getting Ashlyn
in the bath. I call to check in, and he tells me that he has his hands
full, so Will took me to get some tylenol and to mom's house. We get
Luke to sleep Ashlyn out of the bath, and ready for bed, and then
Pat and I tackle the car the best we can in the freezing cold and dark!
It was a 1 time deal, I hope. My sister had the bug too, but Luke did not
get sick anymore. So Pat took him to school today, so I can scrub down
my car, scrub down my house, and wash all of the clothes!!
Pat is the best daddy, best husband, and best son-in-law in the world, and
this week-end was no different. Thanks honey! I love you!
Hickey is resting in peace. I pray that God can mend my grandmothers
broken heart, and give her the strenght to face each day ahead knowing
he is in heaven and in no more pain.
